I'm using it.

Everyone (well, everyone whose opinion matters to me) just LOVED the suicidal cockroach and keeps mentioning it, and did not necessarily love the "latex glove freak".

Fine. The shotgun scene returns. But with gloves. That is all!

You know those extra parts on a bug's nose?

You know, the kind of facial goalie-pads? They make for nice expressions. Hmmmm! I could go with this...

Still, he needs a few bristles, dontcha think?

somebody's getting saucy...

Another in my "temporary posts" series: This is a starting pose which I'm supposed to be keying, rather than fishing for attention on at this point. I hope I'm zeroing in on her design. The wings are definitely too narrow and short.

Cartoons of hope,

and sarcasm. Some bugs get their own toilette (and that, for some people, makes all the photosynthetic difference).

Colors

These are a few samples of my color sense (there are a couple more on this blog, if you scroll down). Sadly, after a bunch of silly things like "acting", "staging", "scene planning" and "musicality", color so often comes as an afterthought in my animation. That in no way means I don't value it. It's, like, what's the word? Pretty.

It came out of left field.

You like puns? It must be getting late.

flirty teen aphid

What I meant was....Oh, nevermind.

Backwards? maybe.

Here's a fishy-poo whom I pretended to animate. Too soon! I gave her all these nice features. Don't skip the blob phase, kids! You know who we are. It was good drawin' practice though. I don't believe in waste.

Figure drawing class!

"Don't draw the figure the way you think you're supposed to draw it in this class. Use the model as a reference to say what you want to say."

That's a paraphrase of instructor Joe Stauber. This class is going to keep me loose, because what I want to say is, the figure is fluid and distortable.

These are quick studies with a little Photoshop paint.

Not rejected!

In this series, I extend an embrace of inclusiveness to all drawings great and small....Oh, wait, no. That wouldn't happen.

I just wanted to post more pictures of Flicka. I can't blame me, can you?

The Whole Ottawa

Alisa encouraged this, so you can blame her. The "I am a fanatic loser" angle and yes, it's a talking cock-a-roach.

Underbite! No glasses!

She even has a name now, but I'll never tell what. Oh, OK smarty pants, you guessed right -- here's a lolly and a golden shower.

Ottawa, the Buxom Alamo of the North

If any of you Pratt kids (HELLO!) missed this on cartoonbrew.com in August, 2006, do you mind me showing off a moment? Well, I'm going to anyway.

Mr Beck and Mr Amidi gave me a free ticket to the Ottawa Festival after I sent them this cartoon (there were four panels in all, but I guess I'll just stick to showing this one).

Here we go. . .

This is the young lady who appears in my new cartoon. She is a goobery little twit.
